Distruction Boyz debut album Gqom Is The Future has been certified gold within two months of its release. This milestone is well deserved considering the worldwide reactions seen on Facebook and Instagram. People just love their music.
The duo from Kwa-Zulu Natal made a mark in Mzansi’s dance scene with their single Uzophuza Amanzi, which sampled one of Big Nuz’s song. Since that break they’ve worked on numerous radio and club hits. ‘Wololo’ by Babes Wodumo, DJ Maphorisa’s ‘Midnight Starring’ and ‘Iscathulo’ by Tipcee are a few of the smashes with their signature.
Their debut album, Gqom Is The Future, was out on 20 October 2017 and ‘Madness’ was a leading single at that time. Omunye was later dropped as a second single and kwavele kwaba nob’vithivithi (it caused havoc). The internet crashed, strue! (Laughs)
The good part is people were feeling ‘Omunye’ before it was out as a single. Those who had Gqom Is The Future and club DJ’s were rocking it. So the reactions began.

UK’s The Ubunifu Space reacted rating the song 9 / 10…
The song is a sensational hit, our neighbouring countries like Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique are banging it. Probably these are the results for Distruction Boyz authenticity.
From us, the Funsion team, we say congratulations to Distruction Boyz and may they continue making history.
