Last week we had an awesome time at Jimmy The Piper‘s birthday celebration. Sbuda, aka Sibusiso Radebe, had his celebration at Gomora’s (Alexandra Township) The Dip Car Wash, where he is a resident DJ.

The party was held in two days, Friday, 27 November 2015 and on Sunday, 29 November 2015. We were there on a cold Friday. Oh, boy, we had fun!

DJ’s played as if it was a competition, a healthy one, obviously. Soul Agenda, of Do It Now Recordings, opened the decks with Deep and Soulful House, he shared some of his production and Jimpster’s ‘just the kind of girl’ were among the songs he played leaving the crowd warmed-up. T-Bang and Thipe, who were playing a one-on-one, hit us with local, South African, Soulful jams. These two gelled well and got people on their feet. When DJ Mgedeza, from Soweto’s Jozi FM, was on. Yo! You’d swear the weather had changed. The crowd began to dance, taking of their jackets and jerseys. He took us back with The Return’s ‘new day’, everyone went ‘buckwild’ and sang along. From Le Chiki, Shaun and to Vincent Venda and Papi (who played one-on-one) it was hotter than lava, but Soulful.
