For the first episode of our groundbreaking show called #HouseJournalSA hosted by DJ MisFit we had DJ Zethu. Her and MisFit opened-up about her challenges, her background and had all the fun two girls could ever have.
About The Show
#HouseJournalSA is a weekly show aiming to bring players closer to fans, shine the light of hope to all dreamers, while having a pinch of fun. The fresh spot, Gandhi Square’s Croco Blu, previously known as Kospotong, is our recording venue.
Who’s DJ MisFit
With her ever jolly self and welcoming aura, Nompumelelo ‘DJ MisFit’ Phiri, does a wonderful job as a host.
Hailing from Pitori Mahlanyeng, DJ MisFit plays everything that can get you on the dance floor. From Deep House, Deep Tech and to Soulful House. She has played alongside DJ Christos, FunkDeepStar and TanZzanite (to state a few), and her mixes have been featured on top radio stations like Ukhozi FM.
Her industry experience gives her all the rights to take #HouseJournalSA’s hot seat.
The First Episode
A DJ and an event organiser, DJ Zethu, real name Zethu Ngam Maphula, was our first guest. She was born in Limpopo and grew-up in Jozi.
As a teenager, her and her late sister would hang at places like Soweto’s Ozone and Joburg’s Galaxy. Although she had to be an adult and get a job, being a DJ has always been her passion.
This love almost got DJ Zethu fired from work, though.
Watch her and DJ MisFit have a chat about her background, challenges and playing a short quiz.
